SCDM 2017 – RBM session chair Abby Abraham of Algorics talks Centralized Data Monitoring with Shobhit Shrotriya, Accenture.

There’s less than a week until clinical data management specialists come together in Orlando for the annual meeting of minds at the SCDM conference.  This year’s event is packed with educational workshops, presentations from pharma and industry providers, a keynote on international clinical trials from the FDA, roundtable sessions and an award ceremony.  A very busy agenda!

With so much to choose from, I want to make sure you know what you can engage with during the session I am chairing on Tuesday 26 September from 8:30-10:00, ‘What can you expect from the Fail-Safe Central Data Monitoring in RBM – How Do We Achieve It?’.  I am delighted with the high-level of expertise and perspectives that my industry speakers will be sharing with you and in this blog, I am thrilled to introduce Shobhit Shrotriya, to give you a taste of what you can expect from his presentation.  I hope you can join us in person for our session in Orlando.  If you would like to meet with us to discuss this topic in more detail, click here to arrange a time convenient for you.

Introducing:       Shobhit Shrotriya , Vice President, Life Sciences R&D Operations & Capability Lead – Clinical Data Services, Accenture Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Presenting:        Enhancing Efficiency and Effectiveness of Clinical Trials through Centralized Data Monitoring

The average cost of developing and bringing a novel pharmaceutical agent to market is approximately $2.6 billion over a 12 years period. As the Life Sciences and the Healthcare industry continue to face challenges such as aging population, together with rising costs of healthcare, it is imperative to control the R&D costs and simultaneously manage the stakeholders (patient, payer, investigator) expectations. During my session, I will focus on the opportunity to fail safe centralized monitoring, optimize current processes, and define a potential roadmap to overcome industry barriers both for site staff and site monitors.
